Do YOU have a HAIR SPRINGS Question?

My friend asked  the question below, I thought others may be wondering the same thing, so I'm writing this note to EVERYONE.  =)

So, are they (referring to Hair Springs) more of a fashion statement, or do they specifically meet a need (like a hair clip or bobby pin, etc) in holding hair back? Do they always lay straight, or can they be bent around like a hair tie?
1. I really think they both meet a need and make a statement.  You can use them in almost any place you would use a bobby pin or hair clip, EXCEPT a bun (IE with bobby pins). . .I'm not sure how you would use them in a bun, but I haven't really tried it yet.  If I ever get that to work I will tell everyone.  =)
2. They do remind me of hair clips, because unlike a bobby pin that you hide, you place the Hair Springs right where you want it to be seen like you do with a clip or barrette.  But unlike the teeth part of the clip that come together to hold your hair in place it's the force of the spring retracting that holds hair where you want it.

3. The Springs do lie straight, you wouldn't bend them around, but once you get them well placed in your hair, they will stay right there, your hair will stay put, too. (It takes a time or two to figure out how much hair you need to get them to stay in place, but that's the same with bobby pins or clips, too - too little and they fall out)

4. More things I can tell you,
* They work best with smaller amounts of hair, not necessarily thin hair, just small amounts.
* My hair is very think, but that doesn't stop me. I have three black springs holding my bangs away from my face.  They've been in my hair 14 hours and have not budged!  I love that!
* Once you get them in THEY STAY!!  AND stay and stay - even over night and through the next day sometimes -not sure how I know that ;-).
* They stay until you take them out (of course you need to get them in right - which you'll get the hang of quickly).
* Snarls/tangles/scary things. . . the only time we have trouble with them getting stuck is when the girls have been running around outside a lot or on a windy day. So if their hair looks tangled after they've played I would comb it smooth and maybe add a little conditioned to ease the springs out, like you might do with other hair accessories.  (NOTE TO SELF: make a movie about getting Springs out of tangled hair.)

5. Not just for little girls!  We wore them to the Dentist office and to get a pedicure and many women asked us about them.  The people at the hair school, where we went for pedicures, started jabbering to each other about how fun they would be to use in Up-dos.  It was so fun to hear THEM coming up with ideas.

I'll be posting more videos to try to give you a better idea of what you can use them for. I started a YOUTUBE channel today: MyHairSprings

I think they would be so pretty in any up-do, prom, bridesmaids hair, etc. I post pictures of my girls wearing them, because it is easier to get photos of them than to get them of me,  but I wear them almost.every.day!  It's just a lot harder to take a good picture of the top of my head all by myself.  =)

Once you get them in your hands and try them out, everything I've told you makes so much more sense.  It helps to try them for yourself.

I hope you will ask me if when you have other questions.

Have a wonderful day!

Hair twists with a twist

My daughter and I saw this cute side hair twist tutorial on Cute Girls Hairstyles

And here is the twist. . .. we thought it would be fun to try it with Hair Springs instead of bobby pins.

Here's how ours turned out:

We love it! What do you think?

Have a GREAT day!
